To use Gmail for SMTP mail sending, configure your Google account with 2-Step Verification and create an App Password for the plugin. The App Password is used instead of your regular Google account password when configuring SMTP.<\/p>\n

Configure Gmail SMTP<\/h2>\n

1. Enable 2-Step Verification<\/h3>\n

Sign in to your Google account and open the Security settings<\/a>. Enable 2-Step Verification<\/strong> if it is not already enabled.<\/p>\n

2. Create an App Password<\/h3>\n

Once 2-Step Verification is enabled, open the App Passwords<\/strong> section of your Google Account and create a new App Password for your website or booking system.<\/p>\n

Use a descriptive name such as WordPress SMTP<\/strong> or Booking System SMTP<\/strong> so you can easily identify it later.<\/p>\n

Good to Know<\/strong><\/p>\n

The App Password option may not be available for some Google accounts, for example when it is restricted by a Google Workspace administrator or certain account security settings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

3. Generate and Save the App Password<\/h3>\n

Google will generate an App Password. Copy and save it securely, as you will need to enter it in the plugin’s SMTP configuration instead of your regular Google account password.<\/p>\n

Good to Know<\/strong><\/p>\n

Google may display the App Password grouped with spaces for readability. When entering it in the plugin’s SMTP settings, paste the password without spaces.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Gmail SMTP Settings<\/h2>\n

Use the following values when configuring SMTP in the plugin:<\/p>\n

  • Username:<\/strong> your Gmail e-mail address, for example yourgmail@gmail.com<\/code><\/li>\n
  • Password:<\/strong> the App Password generated by Google<\/li>\n
  • Host:<\/strong> smtp.gmail.com<\/code><\/li>\n
  • Port:<\/strong> 587<\/code> for TLS or 465<\/code> for SSL<\/li>\n
  • Secure Connection Type:<\/strong> TLS or SSL according to the selected port<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Important!<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Do not use your regular Google account password in the SMTP password field. Use the App Password generated specifically for SMTP access.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    After saving the SMTP configuration, use the e-mail testing option available in the plugin, if provided, or create a test booking to verify that notifications are sent correctly.<\/p>\n
