Version 9.7 marks the culmination of a broader modernization process developed across several recent releases — and the biggest visible change to Chauffeur in years.

A Completely Redesigned Booking Experience

We redesigned the interface from the ground up while keeping the flexibility and configuration options Chauffeur users already rely on. The goal was simple: make a powerful booking system feel clearer, more modern and easier to use.

Form fields, service tabs, dropdowns, date and time controls, tooltips and booking summaries have all been refreshed. The visual hierarchy is cleaner, important choices are easier to recognize and the entire booking process feels more consistent from the first location field to the final booking summary.

Vehicle selection has also been redesigned, with new cards that present vehicles, capacity, pricing and available options in a much clearer way.

Built for Every Screen

Chauffeur now provides a cleaner and more structured experience on smaller screens, with improved spacing, better readability and controls that adapt more naturally to mobile devices.

That matters because many customers book transportation directly from their phones, often while travelling, leaving an airport or arranging a ride on short notice. The booking flow now gives them a clearer path through each step without sacrificing the configuration options available on larger screens.

Faster and Lighter Under the Hood

Across recent Chauffeur releases, we have gradually rebuilt and optimized important parts of the frontend and backend. Legacy layout techniques have been replaced with modern CSS Grid, styles and dependencies have been reduced, database queries have been optimized and Google Maps API requests have been made more efficient. We have also introduced greater control over script loading and optional frontend libraries.

The objective is straightforward: keep Chauffeur powerful while making the system lighter, more efficient and easier to maintain as the product continues to grow.

More Flexible Pricing and Smarter Routing

Chauffeur has always offered extensive control over how bookings are priced, and the latest release adds even more possibilities to Pricing Rules. Prices can now react to additional conditions, including the week number of the return date, whether a customer is logged in and the WordPress user role assigned to that customer. This opens up new scenarios such as dedicated pricing for registered clients, corporate users, partners or specific customer groups without requiring separate booking forms.

Route calculation has also gained new configuration options. Depending on the booking scenario, Chauffeur can now use traffic-unaware routing, traffic-aware routing or an optional traffic-aware mode.

More Control Over the Booking Experience

The latest changes also introduce a number of smaller controls that make it easier to tailor Chauffeur to a particular website or booking workflow. An optional initial preloader can improve the first impression while the form is being prepared. Google Maps markers can now be numbered to make multi-stop routes easier to understand. Site owners also gain additional control over email presentation and the way Google Maps functionality is loaded and used.
