Chauffeur Taxi Booking System 9.1 — Extended Availability & Toll Calculation

We’ve released version 9.1 of the Chauffeur Taxi Booking System, introducing several important improvements focused on availability logic, pricing control, toll handling, and overall performance.

This update reflects real operational needs of transport businesses including more accurate vehicle blocking, better fleet segmentation, automated toll calculation, and faster pricing adjustments.

Below is an overview of what’s new and how these changes can support your daily operations.

Real-World Vehicle Availability

With the new option introduced in version 9.1, availability can now be calculated based on the total booking duration including:

• Travel time from base to pickup location
• The actual ride (A → B)
• Return time from drop-off back to base

Once enabled in plugin settings, the vehicle is blocked in the calendar for the entire operational window, not just the visible ride. This advanced availability model helps prevent overbooking, protects driver schedules, and better reflects how professional chauffeur services operate in practice.

Minimum & Maximum Ride Duration Rules

Not every resource should be available for every booking. Version 9.1 allows you to define minimum and maximum ride duration limits within Availability Rules.

These limits can be applied not only to vehicles, but also to selected extras. That means:

• You can prevent executive vehicles from being booked for short-duration rides that don’t fit your service strategy.
• You can restrict certain add-ons or vehicle types to bookings within a specific duration range.

This provides more precise control over fleet segmentation and service configuration, helping protect high-value resources from inefficient usage.

Full Native Toll Calculation

This is one of the standout features of 9.1. The plugin now supports full native toll calculation using Google routing data (where available). It detects toll roads dynamically and calculates costs accordingly.

You can enable toll calculation separately for:

• The main trip (A → B)
• Delivery (base → pickup)
• Return (drop-off → base)

The toll fee is displayed as a separate line in the booking summary, providing full transparency. Even more interesting: the system detects route direction — important because some toll systems charge only in one direction. This turns Chauffeur into a truly professional transport cost engine.

Vehicle Engine Type & Toll Pass Configuration

We’ve also added new vehicle-level configuration options:

• Engine type — useful for routing logic and toll calculations (Google may calculate differently depending on vehicle type).
• Toll pass support — choose which toll vignette/pass a vehicle has. This is taken into account when toll calculation is enabled.

These small configuration details unlock much more accurate trip pricing.

Bulk Price & Tax Modifications

If you’ve ever managed vehicle pricing in detail, you know how many components a single vehicle can include. Version 9.1 introduces bulk modification tool that allow you to:

• Update all vehicle price components at once
• Adjust tax rates globally
• Modify pricing rules (price, alter type, tax rate) in one action

This is especially useful when updating VAT rates or resetting pricing structures.

Performance Improvements

This release also reduces the number of included JS and CSS libraries. For example, certain behaviors that previously required JavaScript are now handled purely with CSS. Fewer libraries mean:

• Better performance
• Lower risk of theme conflicts
• Cleaner front-end loading

You can also exclude specific libraries if your theme already loads them — helping avoid duplication and conflicts.

Additional Improvements

• New Google Maps control options (default zoom, drag control and other fine-tuning).
• Option to reset plugin settings to factory defaults.
• Option to reset JS/CSS cache, useful when style changes don’t reflect immediately.
